Christine McDougall, Authentic Leadership and Profound CommunicationChristine McDougall

Dr. Christine McDougall partners with extraordinary people globally designing, supporting and implementing world changing artifacts to support the success of 100% of humanity, in the shortest possible time without ecological offence or the disadvantage of anyone. She also works with a select group of individuals and teams who have an uncompromising commitment to truth and integrity.

Christine is a founding partner of ‘The Constellation’, a global guild of incomparable thought leaders, practitioners and institutions who partner with organisations and enterprises committed to systemic change in their unending quest to create better, more sustainable futures for all.

Christine’s contribution includes;

  • a personal commitment to her own integrity, and to supporting the integrity in people, relationships, enterprises, artifacts and systems, macro and micro, in all domains, without exception. She holds herself to account, and is open to be held to account. She speaks truth to power in a way that adds value to all. She teaches others to speak their own truth in support of the highest level of integrity available.
  • the ability to perceive and understand the world at a systemic level, and to address our most pressing issues from this place first and foremost. In so doing, she challenges people to shift their own perspective, inviting a comprehensive and considered response to all actions and designs.
  • a commitment to allowing for the emergence of natural design in all projects and relationships, respecting all stake-holders in the unfolding process. In implementation, the ability to continually let go of egocentric ‘self’ needs, collaborating with others and with what needs to emerge.
  • a desire, motivated by curiosity and respect, to seek deep understanding of people and systems. From understanding, Christine has the ability to translate the complex into a simple narrative without loosing the integrity of the original, allowing complex thinking to become ever more accessible to ever more people without being reductionistic.
  • showing up as fully human, without pretence or artifice. To be vulnerable, imperfect, not have all the answers, or know all the ‘right’ questions. To be moved by emotion in all shades, from anger to love, willing to embrace all. To not be intimidated by power, or the perception of power.
  • endurance, in the spiritual, physical, emotional and universal domains. Christine is a warrior, and expresses this through deep passion for her work, for the success of all of humanity and for truth. Physically, she is an endurance athlete, having run many marathons and ultra marathons around the world. She understands endurance of spirit, the conscious choice to stay in integrity against all odds. As a single parent, she understands and has integrated the solo journey, recognising its strengths and limitations, as well as its illusions.
  • staying in the larger conversations occurring globally, including in the domains of politics, economics, pop culture, business, science and spirituality. Christine does this via reading, listening, and deep dialogue. Her commitment to her own learning and understanding of the historical, current and future events allows her to synthesise the many and diverse into coherence and relevance, revealing the pattern integrity in so doing. As such she has a strong sense of the emergent future. She is visionary in her approach to the future, seeing possibility and plenty, deeply respecting the ingenuity and resourcefulness of humankind.
  • innovation of thought and action. Christine is a pioneer and rebel, unafraid to question current and historical models of business, economics, governance and relationships. She does this to support a more integrally informed future.
  • being motivated by an intention to serve the success of all of humanity that transcends self.

Her work from past to present includes;

Christine has spent the last 25 years working with the complex human dynamic of people and relationships. She is a skilled facilitator, coach and speaker. As a facilitator of group processes, she works in a very organic way, meeting the group where they are. In a very pragmatic way, she invites their own perceptual and behaviour shifts, bringing both rigour and compassion to the process. The foundations of this work require deep respect for all present, systemic listening and understanding, and the willingness to trust the emergent process with complete surrender. She has worked with multinational corporations, senior executives, elite athletes, and social entrepreneurs from around the world.

As a dedicated student of R. Buckminster Fuller for the past 25 years, Christine is inspired and challenged daily by his life and thinking. His models of thinking, being and problem solving informs much of Christine’s work.

Her personal blog, ‘Guinea Pig C’, is inspired by Bucky’s own ‘Guinea Pig B’, where he demonstrated, over the course of 50 years, that if he committed himself to working for the success of all of humanity, and never sort to “work for a living” the Universe would support him. In her blog Christine shares with an open heart, her experience of a life path centred around integrity, speaking of her challenges and fears, her lessons and reflections. She also writes for her web site, Positive Deviant, exploring how the world needs positive deviance - a different level of thinking – in order to support the success of humanity.

Christine has a Bachelor of Science, with a major in Chiropractic. She is Australasia’s first Master Certified Coach, a powerful teacher and is considered a luminary in her field which she has helped shape and steward for over 14 years. This has included various leadership roles such as: Founding President of the International Coach Federation (Australasia); past Board Director and Vice President of the International Coach Federation (International); Editorial Board, International Journal of Coaching in Organisations.

She lives on the Gold Coast, in Queensland Australia, with her 20 year old daughter Natalie.

Yvonne McLean
Auckland, New Zealand
Associate

Yvonne McLean is an Executive Coach with a wealth of experience of working with senior managers and staff at all levels.  Yvonne has worked both in New Zealand and internationally.  Until she and her family returned to New Zealand to live in late 2003, Yvonne was the lead lawyer in the UK Legal team of Microsoft Limited and was a member of the company’s Executive Management team.

Having worked for Microsoft for over 7 years, Yvonne has a good understanding of what it takes to be successful in a large global and fast moving company.  She worked closely with the Senior Executives and Managers at Microsoft and helped them deal with issues they were facing.  She has personal experience of working with colleagues and superiors based at a regional HQ in another country and in other countries within a geographical region.    Yvonne also managed and coached a team of staff and external lawyers on secondment to the company.  She therefore comes with a practical understanding of the challenges that leaders and their teams face in the rapidly evolving business world.

Yvonne studied Modern Languages at Oxford University.  She majored in German and speaks both German and French fluently.  She qualified as a lawyer in both the UK and New Zealand.  Her practical training comprised a year in a small shipping firm in the City of London, where she was able to use her languages, and then a second year in the Company/Commercial and Property departments at Linklaters.  She then worked as a litigation lawyer, specialising in Intellectual Property, at Richards Butler in the City of London for a number of years before immigrating to New Zealand in 1990.  She re-qualified in New Zealand and practised as an Intellectual Property litigation lawyer, first at Russell McVeagh and then at Chapman Tripp.  Whilst she was at Chapman Tripp, she was invited to apply for the newly created position of senior lawyer at Microsoft in the UK.  She returned to the UK to join Microsoft Limited in 1996.

With a background as a lawyer for just over 20 years, Yvonne’s training and experience has taught her to sift through large amounts of information and distil the important issues quickly and efficiently.  She is very skilled at making sense of a mass of information (or chaos) and at finding ways to order it.  She has coached and mentored people throughout her working career.  She now coaches full time in her own business, Strategic Direction Consulting Limited.

Yvonne enjoys facing challenges and knows what it takes to step out of her comfort zone: she has lived and worked in Germany and has shifted between the UK and New Zealand a couple of times.  In all of her moves, she has had to establish a new network of friends and colleagues and adapt to change.

Since returning to New Zealand, Yvonne has decided to make a career change to enable her to build on her interest in developing people and create more balanced time for her family commitments.  She is now also a Certified NLP Practitioner and is an accredited Professional Behaviour Analyst, using the DISC Tool.

Before having a family, Yvonne did a substantial amount of voluntary work for a Citizens Advice Bureau in London.  Since returning to New Zealand, she has been actively involved in helping her children’s school in its fundraising activities.  She currently also mentors a teenage girl on the YWCA Future Leader’s Programme.

Yvonne has a relaxed and empathetic coaching style.   She is also not afraid to challenge her clients whenever necessary.   Her objective as a coach is to grow the individual she is coaching and to focus on helping each person achieve their successful outcomes.
